Each team at DoubleGDP has a charter with high level responsibilities.

  • Charter - “a written constitution or description of an organization's functions.”


Responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining product features.

  1. Recruit and build a “world-class”, fast-moving team.
  2. Invest in engineers skills through mentorship and/or training.
  3. Collaborate with product to develop valuable, small, and independent stories
  4. Build iteratively scalable software architecture that meets the product requirements.
  5. Release stable Product features
  6. Achieve consistent feature delivery
  7. Automate builds and deployment
  8. Responsible for production support and uptime.
  9. Manage the engineering Roadmap
  10. Protect data and systems entrusted to us

Customer Success

Drive adoption of the product among customers and users

  1. Ensure awareness among users of what the product can do and the value it can deliver to them
  2. Identify unmet needs and ensure Product Management is aware of them
  3. Answer client questions and provide support and sales
  4. Run operations & logistics necessary to keep systems and data working on site
  5. Assist Security with upto date knowledge on systems

Within customer success, we have two focus areas: operations and content marketing.

Content Marketing

Accelerate growth through engaging, informative, and promotional content.

  1. Define relevant content for each audience
  2. Project manage content development and publication
  3. Ensure engagement and connection with audiences on all social media platforms
  4. Source content ideas from team, admins, clients
  5. Monitor and report success of marketing campaigns
  6. Document best practices to help customers build their own content
  7. Propose and advocate product enhancements that improve our content marketing capabilities


Connect with the city community and ensure responsive services

  1. Help users to understand and make good use of the application
  2. Monitor and improve user satisfaction - both community members and admin teams
  3. Ensure responsiveness of support communications
  4. Build and support processes for operational teams (e.g. guards, contractors, sales team, finance team)
  5. Demonstrate and document best practices so to help customers run efficient operations leveraging DGDP
  6. Propose and advocate product enhancements that improve responsiveness and satisfaction

Product Management

Responsible for creating products and experiences that customers and users love and value

  1. Identify valuable use cases for our customers (Nkwashi now) and their stakeholders
  2. Articulate customer and stakeholder needs into manageable stories for engineering development
  3. Measure and iterate product based on adoption and feedback

Product Design

Responsible for improving the user experience and the interface design of DoubleGDP's platform

  1. Plan and implement new designs, optimise existing user interfaces, and improve the intuitivity and experience of the platform
  2. Support the development of requirements to deliver user-centered solutions
  3. Test new product ideas through prototypes and user research
  4. Provide support for partnerships and marketing material and collateral
  5. Collaborate closely with customers, product, and development teams, and effectively communicate design decisions across all stakeholders


Responsible to bring in new partners who will utilize our platform (as it is or as we can envision it) for their users

  1. Assess broader market fit for our product and our vision (“Prove that there’s a wider market”)
  2. Find new partners who align with our values
  3. Pursue a “long nurture” approach in building relationships with partners
  4. Help, don’t sell
  5. Understand partner's goals and where we can contribute
  6. Inspire partners to enter a “testing agreement” like the one we have with Nkwashi

"Partners" include cities / property developers / community organizations, and their users include staff, residents, businesses, and prospective members of their communities.


Responsible for forming strategy, with the team and values to achieve it.

  1. Help team focus on what we need to succeed: make our customers successful, iterate with the smallest step each time; follow a "handbook-first" approach to process improvement
  2. Support team in achieving their charters; help build alignment among them
  3. Handle functions of company not directly in another team’s charter — e.g. people operations, legal, misc.


Responsible to invest money and provide advice.
